Women's Fellowship Group

cross and heart.jpgThis group loves to laugh and enjoy fellowship with each other. They pray and praise the Lord. They are studying The Esteemed Journey - Discovering Your Full Worth in Christ. They also support various mission projects during the year. They meet from September through May in each other's home on the second Monday of the month at 6:45 p.m. except in September, December, and May when they meet in the Fellowship Hall at the church at 6:30 p.m. for special fellowship events.

Come join them for fun, praise, thanks, prayer and study. If you need a ride, call the leader Chris Manley. They would love to have you join them.

Circle Dorcas

faith 001.jpgCircle Dorcas meets in the Fellowship Hall at the church on the second Thursday of each month from October through May. Our meetings are at 10 a.m., except in October and May when they meet at 11:00 a.m. for potluck luncheons.

They have a devotion and study during our meetings, and names are drawn for prayer partners. Praying for one another is an important part of their Circle.

They would love to have you join them. If you need a ride, call Virginia Lees or Eloise Atchley. They pray their Circle will be blessed with new members.

Mom's Group

moms 001.jpgThe Mom's Group from the First Baptist Church is for mothers with infants and preschoolers. We meet to discuss the joys and challenges of raising our children, and each us discusses our personal walk with Christ. We meet from September through May on the first and third Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. We have childcare provided at every meeting by a wonderful group of ladies from our church.

This year we are studying what the Bible has to say about being a mother.  Each mom gets to take a turn bringing refreshments, so we have great goodies at every meeting! If you would like to make some new friends, strengthen relationships with your family and with God and have lots of fun, please join our Mom's Group. For more information, call Michilyn Gonzalez.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

shawl1.jpgThis ministry gives hand-knitted (or crocheted) shawls to people who have a need in their life. Each one who knits a shawl will be praying for the needs of the person who will receive it while they are knitting the shawl.

Those interested in knitting can get pattern directions from Cindy, and can also become involved in a once-a-month knitting circle on the 4th Monday from 6:30- 8:00 p.m. at Cindy's house. It will be a time to meet together with others who are knitting shawls and share, but also a time to learn to knit, or get help with your shawl.

Want to get involved, but don't know how to knit? Contact Cindy Pendegraft- she will teach you how. This will be a unique ministry opportunity to reach out with God's love in a personal way to others who need his healing, loving touch.

Women's Bible Study

bible study 003.jpgThis group meets weekly on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the home of Joyce Smart and it is led by Joyce Smart. All women are invited to join this intermediate level study group. This year's study is on the book Roll Away Your Stone by Dutch Steets. We read a chapter from our selected study book and discuss it. There is no homework. Our goal is to gain insight into a deeper walk with the Lord. For more information, contact Joyce Smart.

Third Thursday

meal.jpgThe Third Thursday is a once-a-month no-host lunch out. It is a wonderful opportunity to make connections and get to know each other on more than a "Good Morning" level. All women of the church are welcome for a lunch out! Come and enjoy an time of Christian fellowship-no cooking, no cleaning up!

Come prepared to share a little about yourself and get to know other women attending Selma First Baptist! We hope to see you on the Third Thursday of each month (except July, November, and December) at 11
:30 a.m. We will be meeting at various restaurants. Call Chris Manley for the location or more information.
