Pastor Jack Negrete is originally from Southern California. He and his family moved to Northern Nevada and was one of the original founding and church planting families of LifePoint Church in Minden, Nevada. He, his wife Cheri and their two children then moved to Dayton, Nevada in 2006 to plant CenterPoint Christian Fellowship. He pastored there for 10 years. After some ministry in Montana and Northern California, he and Cheri followed God’s lead and call in November 2018 to come to Selma, CA to be the Senior Pastor of Selma First Baptist Church. He went to school for a Divinity Degree, a Social Work Degree, and is also a Licensed Clinical Therapist.
He loves his wife of 29 years, his family, enjoys fishing and taking time out in quiet beautiful places to be quiet with God and to recharge his spiritual batteries. His favorite books (though he has many) are The Bible, My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers and The Life You’ve Always Wanted by John Ortberg. His favorite food is “good ol’ fashioned” Jewish soul food, bagels and lox and kishka with gravy. He also likes homemade pizza and sushi. His scriptural “life verse” comes from Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
